Internet Explorer Mobile 9 is a key part of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and brings the best of Microsoft’s market-leading web browser to the new range of Nokia Windows Phones. Offering an easy to use interface and loads of great features, it makes a fantastic choice for browsing the internet on the move.
Accessed directly from the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Start screen, Internet Explorer Mobile 9 aims to provide what Microsoft refers to as ‘Less Browser, More Web’. With its clean interface showing nothing more than the address bar and the page you’re viewing, you can get fully immersed in the page that you're viewing.
In a unique design decision, the address bar is located at the bottom of the screen, rather the top. This simple choice has a surprisingly powerful effect, as web pages now feel like they’re truly filling the screen, rather than being enclosed by the browser’s navigation interface.
All extra features, such as tabs, history, favourites and settings are accessed by pressing the More button at the bottom right of the screen. This opens a smoothly animated pop-up menu, which can then be scrolled through to find the option you want. The interface works flawlessly and is great to use.
The Tabs option shows all your currently opened websites as a panel of thumbnail icons, which you can tap to open in full-screen view. Creating a new tab is as easy as tapping the Add button that appears at the bottom of the screen on the Tabs panel, then typing in your address and hitting Go.
To improve browsing speed, Internet Explorer Mobile identifies itself to sites as a mobile browser, so that they can optimize their content for your Nokia Windows Phone. You can even choose whether you want to view mobile or full desktop versions of websites, by default, by changing one quick option in the Settings menu.
Video fans can also rejoice, as YouTube videos can be viewed in Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and Internet Explorer Mobile 9 without having to download and install a standalone app. Bringing the best Flash-based videos straight to your Nokia Windows Phone with no middle-man, it is easy to stay entertained.
If you find a website that you like, you can pin it to the Windows Phone Start screen with the touch of a button. The site is then shown as a live tile on the Start screen and is updated in real-time to reflect the websites current content. You can then open the website in Internet Explorer Mobile with a tap.
And you can even share website recommendations with friends quickly and easily. At any time, you can tap the More button, then select Share Page and you are given a list of ways you can share the website with your friends, including via text message, email, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Finally, security has also been beefed up with Internet Explorer Mobile 9, making it the safest way to browse the web on your Nokia Windows Phone. With its new Protected Mode, the browser session is always restricted to a low-rights security sandbox, keeping the rest of your phone safe at all times.
Offering an easy and intuitive way to browse the web on your Nokia Windows Phone, Internet Explorer Mobile 9 is one of the best features of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and we’re already huge fans. It may well be the best mobile internet browser we’ve used to date and we’re absolutely hooked already.
Let's Hope we get something big ,this Nokia World 11 :)
